Pals Blog Hop – The Happiest Season

Hello, welcome to the Stampin’ Pretty Pals’ Blog Hop! This month our Design Team is showcasing “My Happiest Season.” We hope you enjoy and will be inspired by them! Don’t forget to leave comments! We love hearing from you. At the end of my post, you will find the full line-up to help you “hop” along from Pal to Pal.

My favorite season is…FALL! Around mid-August I start getting excited because I know fall is coming which means Pumpkin Spice Lattes, Halloween and trick-or-treating and then we get into Thanksgiving and Christmas. I love to host and I always have Thanksgiving and Christmas at my house. We have lots of food and lots of fun! The last 4 months of the year are favorite time of year.

To showcase my favorite season I decided to make this Apple Cider Treat Pocket. I made two versions – one for my son to give to his teacher (above) on the first day of school next week and the other is a Thanksgiving table favor (below) that I’ll make for my guests this year. These would be a huge hit at a craft fair too.

Instructions: I got the basic packet dimensions and instructions from fellow Pal Julie DiMatteo. You can see her post with her video instructions here.

After seeing Julie’s post I decided this would be a great idea for apple cider packets and that’s how I put my own spin on Julie’s instructions and made the Apple Cider Treat Pocket.

Measurements:

  • Cinnamon Cider base – 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″, scored along the 8-1/2″ side at 4-1/4″
    • Make a tick mark at 2-3/4″ along the 5-1/2″ side and cut from the tick mark to where the center score line meets the top edge
  • Plaid Tidings 6″ x 6″ DSP – 4″ x 5-1/8″
    • Make a tick mark at 2-5/8″ along the 5-1/8″ side and, with the tick mark along the right side, cut from the tick mark to the opposite left corner
  • Copper Ribbon: Cut a 12″ piece
Apple Cider Packets: I bought these Alpine Spiced Apple Cider packets at my local Target.
Caramel Bits (in treat tubes): I bought these Kraft Caramel Bits at my local Target to put in the treat tubes.
Treat Tubes: This project uses the retired Treat Tubes. If you don’t have any on hand and would like to order some for your project, these from Amazon should work.

How to Ink with Embossing Folders: See my step-by-step photo tutorial below for this technique. It adds so much depth and dimension to embossed paper.

Thank you so much for stopping by and joining me today. I hope you enjoyed this Apple Cider Treat Pocket and make one soon.
More inspiration awaits! Use the Blog Hop Line-up below to visit the rest of this month’s Design Team. My fellow Pals are excited to show you what they’ve created! Mark your calendars for our next blog hop on September 9th when our theme is “It’s the Sentiment that Counts.” The Design Team will showcase a sentiment as the focal point of their project. Don’t miss the fun! Until then, please stay safe and have fun in your craft room.

    1. Love these packets! Your directions are great as well as where you purchased the treats. I have used those caramel bits making the cookie recipe on the back! So yummy!!!

    4. These are so cute – I also was wondering about the contents of the tube which really made me read the post. I thought they were garbanzo beans/chic peas at first and thought what a weird combo, but caramel makes much more sense.

      • Haha, chickpeas would be weird but I can see why you thought that. Thanks for stopping by and checking out my fun fall project Cyndi!
