June Stamp Camp Recap - Ombre Coloring with Blossoms in Bloom

Welcome to the June 2020 Stamp Camp Recap! Today's project is the first card that we made at Stamp Camp this month, this ombre colored Blossoms in Bloom card.

This was my first Stamp Camp session since March when I had to stop holding in session classes. It was so nice to have everyone over. I have been limiting the number of attendees to half my normal class size and we have been having class outside to limit the amount of germs that could possibly enter my home. I sanitize everything in between as well to ensure the utmost safety.

Having Stamp Camp outside in central Florida in the middle of summer is not ideal, but my loyal, devoted and hardcore Stamp Camp ladies are there with bells on! I am so fortunate to have such a great group, I love you guys!

This first project was a great one and everyone seemed to really enjoy the ombre coloring technique to get this gorgeous flower blossom bunch. After we colored and die cut the flower, we then added some Clear Wink of Stella for that extra glitter and pizzazz.

Here's another angle so you can see how the Wink of Stella makes it glisten in the light...
Card Recipe:
(Don't forget to see the complete product showcase at the bottom of this post)

Cut Your Paper:
Highland Heather Cardstock
  • 4 1/4" x 11"
Whisper White Cardstock
  • 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"
  • 4 1/8" x 5 3/8"
Make Your Ombre Background:
1. Take your 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" Whisper White Cardstock piece and use the Balmy Blue and Highland Heather ink and Sponge Brayers to make your ombre background.
2. Start with one color, roll the Sponge Brayer in one direction to ink up, and then roll onto a section of the Whisper White Cardstock while it is in landscape position in front of you.
3. Repeat with opposite color, don't be afraid to overlap the colors a bit this helps to blend and even creates a third color.
4. Once your background is how you like it, take the large blossom die from the Many Layered Blossoms and die cut the ombre background.
5. Apply Clear Wink of Stella to your flower die cut to really make it shine.
Make Your Sentiment:
1. Take a scrap piece of Highland Heather Cardstock and stamp your desired sentiment on to it in Versarmark Ink.
2. Sprinkle with White Stampin' Emboss Powder and flick to remove excess powder. Set with your Heat Tool.
3. Cut down your sentiment with Paper Snips as desired.
Assemble:
1. Fold your Highland Heather Card Base in half and burnish with your Bone Folder.
2. Take your 4 1/8" x 5 3/8" Whisper White Cardstock piece and adhere to your Highland Heather Card Base with Stampin' Seal.
3. Apply Mini Stampin' Dimensionals and Stampin' Dimensionals to the back of your flower die cut and adhere to your card.
4. Adhere the sentiment with Stampin' Dimensionals.
5. Adhere Rhinestone Basic Jewels as shown and you're done!

I created a similar card (shown above) to this one about a week ago. It just has the ombre as the background and the flowers are white. Basically it's the opposite version of the card in this post. You can see my post about it HERE

Need some help with the brayer technique? You can watch my video below that has some great tips on how to evenly apply ink with Sponge Brayers.
I hope you have enjoyed this project and will stay tuned for the next Stamp Camp project coming soon!

Happy Stamping!
